Carolyn McCall is chief executive of Guardian Media Group plc, one of the UK’s leading multimedia businesses. GMG’s portfolio includes the Guardian and Observer newspapers and the guardian.co.uk website; local and regional newspapers; a network of commercial radio stations; leading B2B media company Emap; and Trader Media Group, publisher of the Auto Trader website and magazine. GMG is wholly owned by the Scott Trust, which was formed in 1936 to secure the financial and editorial independence of the Guardian in perpetuity.
