Glenn J. Hansen President and CEO, BPA Worldwide, USA
BIOGRAPHY
Glenn J. Hansen has been President and Chief Executive Officer of BPA Worldwide since August 1999 and is celebrating his 30th year with the organization.
Hansen sees the E-reader as fundamental to growth for media houses, even if that means being flat rather than down. E-readers being introduced in the near and medium term could redefine the user experience with what was print media. Recognizing this, Hansen has lead BPA to discuss what business might look like when the E-reader becomes ubiquitous.
BPA Worldwide is the world’s largest independent, not-for-profit auditor of print, screen and live media offering uniformly applied standards around the world. Now in its 79th year, BPA Worldwide has more than 2600 advertisers and media buyers within its worldwide membership. It audits more than 2800 media properties across 30 countries. Its offices are located in Beijing, Dubai, London, Montreal, Toronto and Shelton, Connecticut, nearby New York City.
Glenn is a magna cum laude graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Prior to joining BPA, he was an officer with the U.S. Customs Service, working in narcotics interdiction and cargo theft squads in New York City airports and shipyards.
He avidly plays ice hockey, scuba dives ship wrecks and pilots single engine planes.
