After his studies and promotion in business administration Olaf Conrad, born in 1964, joined Gruner + Jahr, Europe’s biggest publishing house, in 1991. After being assigned vice president and later on president of stern, Germany’s second largest General Interest news magazine, art and NEON he became head of G+J-sales department in 2005.
In 2006 Olaf Conrad joined the management board of then newly founded DPV Deutscher Pressevertrieb, joint sales force of G+J and several subsidiaries. One year later, in 2007, he was appointed CEO of DPV Deutscher Pressevertrieb and member of the executive board of Gruner+Jahr Germany. He is in charge of over 400 people and an annual magazine turnover of 1.1 billion € (gross prices).

Hamburg-based DPV was founded in 2006 to cross-link Gruner + Jahr's distributional activities with those of its subsidiary distributional departments. Today no less than 15 distribution companies work together under one roof and perform sales services for Gruner + Jahr brands as well as for many friendly publishing houses like DIE ZEIT, DER SPIEGEL and EGMONT EHAPA. In the face of shifting requirements in the markets various distribution services can now be bundled strongly and more effectively.
